Music Photography - My first attempt!

For longer than I remember I have wanted to merge my two loves, music and photography, I've just never known how to get into it. Last week my friend and fellow photographer Dan Donovan contacted me to ask if I fancied going to a gig. His band King Kool where playing along with a few other bands at Mama Liz's - The Voodoo Lounge in Stamford. I Jumped at the chance, a night out, great food, great music and a great chance to have my first go at taking low light band photos.

So first off I have got to say everyone needs to check out Mama Liz's... AWESOME food!!! and what can I say about The Voodoo Lounge... what a cool little intimate music venue, the music sounded amazing!

The bands were great I am definitely going to be checking them out more, I have put links under the pics, so check these guys out!

Anyway here are some of the pics I took. Please remember these were my first try, I was quite nervous about where I could and couldn't be and didn't want to get in the way, but they are a start. I can't wait to try more!

My Little Bro got Hitched!!

Yes my little step brother Daniel finally got hitched to his beautiful partner Claire at the end of July and it was the first wedding I have been to for a LONG time where I was not behind the camera.. well not all day anyway... I was a guest yippeee.. that ment I could drink Pimms, Drink wine, eat lots of scrummy food, drink wine and party on!!

I still took the old camera along for the ride but made sure I only took a few as I didn't want to get in the way... here's my favourite few from the lovely day... Don't ask what happened in the evening, everything became a bit blurry!!!

Natalie & Shaun's Pre wedding shoot - Wells, Norfolk.

Natalie and Shaun booked me for their wedding photography back early last year and decided they would like to go for the pre wedding shoot in Wells along the North Norfolk coast.. It was a beautiful sunny day in July, possibly the hottest day of the year... This gave us a few problems.. lots of people, bright bright sunshine and nowhere to park lol. But the beauty of Wells is you not only have the gorgeous white sandy beach and beach huts but a pretty woodland area too so we found some shade! I am so pleased with the outcome of this shoot, especially as Shaun was pretty nervous about having his pics taken to start with, but by the end of the day he was climbing trees and jumping off logs without a care in the world.. hehe!! Natalie and Shaun were married this past weekend and it was such a beautiful and emotion wedding. Congratulations guys.. Thank you for choosing me as your photographer, I can't wait to post here with your wedding photo's. x
